The OZ Fitness dream started in 1980 when a young 20-year-old named Ian Riley (CEO/President of Oz) started his first fitness center, Riley’s Gym, in a suburb of Sydney, Australia. It was a humble beginning. The 2,500 square foot club was in a terrible location and you needed a map, a compass and a lot of luck to stumble upon it. Many lessons were learned during those early years about the challenges within the fitness industry. Over the years things steadily improved, as did the OZ Fitness dream.

In parallel to this, a world-class bodybuilding career was also being born and after many years of determined training, Ian won an I.F.B.B. Pro Bodybuilding card. The business world offered the one thing that seemed to motivate more than anything else, and that was changing people’s lives. Now, after more than 27 years of owning and operating clubs in Australia, Switzerland and the United States, January 2007 saw the official launch of OZ Fitness as a stand-alone brand in the Pacific Northwest. The OZ Fitness dream continues to grow.
